Robb Manning grew up in a rural community in southern Wisconsin. Upon graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served for nearly 11 years (1990-2000). During this time, he developed a passion and knowledge for firearms of all types.
Upon getting out of the Marines, Robb and his new wife moved back to Wisconsin, where Robb went to the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science, while also dedicating significant time to classes in English, writing, and journalism.
Robb is extremely passionate about firearms, confessing to “bleeding gunpowder out of his veins.” He loves everything guns — but especially military surplus, tactical rifles, and handguns. Naturally, he is an advocate of the Second Amendment.
In 2010, Robb decided to put his lifelong love of guns to good use as a freelance gun/hunting writer, and has since written for AR Guns & Hunting magazine, Predator Xtreme, Gun Digest magazine, and Modern Shooter. He also had two reoccurring columns in the On Wisconsin Outdoors newspaper. He has two books, Glock Reference Guide, and CZ Reference Guide; and co-authored a second book, Shooter’s Bible Guide to the AR15, 2nd Ed., with Doug Howlett
He proudly took the helm of Gun World in May 2016.
Robb and his lovely wife have three boys, ages 8, 10, and 12; and reside in Southeast Wisconsin.
