With Father’s Day just around the corner, have you decided yet what to give the important man in your life? Rifle Dynamics, quality manufacturer and purveyor of many AK-pattern rifles, pistols, accessories and products based in Las Vegas may have a suggestion – their limited-edition AKM.
This limited-run piece is based on a Polish AKM, featuring a Bakelite pistol grip, quality wood handguard and stock, sanded and made more attractive with a lavish finish in Tung oil. Chambered in 7.62x39mm, it’s every bit as good as the original AKM, and maybe better. The bolt, bolt carrier are finely-tuned, and the receiver features side scope rails (not pictured) and a tuned Tapco G2 trigger. Fuller Rear sights are installed, a vast improvement over standard AK rear sights; the notch width and rounded edges of the rear sight offer faster and easier target acquisition. The barrel is 16 inches in length, and ends in a neat-looking FSC muzzle device made by Primary Weapons Systems.
For a closer look at this limited-edition AKM, you can watch a presentation video featuring Jim Fuller in an amusing “Mr. Rogers”-like role. In the video, Mr. Fuller makes hilarious but poignant arguments for buying dad the AKM:
“Kids, your dad wants more than just pipes, ties or slippers. Your dad would really love a special Father’s Day version of the Rifle Dynamics AKM. I would love my children forever if they got me this for Father’s Day! So kids, remember when you’re out looking around for something for dad, he would really like this. Don’t get me wrong, he would love the tie, he would love the pipe or the slippers, but he would REALLY like this.”
According to their website, orders will only be taken until June 8, 3PM PST. The firearm will be available for shipping on June 11, and will have a very small production run limited to 20 units.
